Our latest project – Ducted system replacement at Cammeray area.
Last week our team replaced a very old Ducted system “CHIGO” brand that was installed in 2007 and lasted for 15 years. Because there are no spare parts available for this brand the client asked us to replace the whole system with the new Daikin ducted system. Condition of existing ductwork was good so we kept the existing flexible ducts and grills but replaced the copper pipes, drain, remote control and new communication cables.
Also, a customer asked us to relocate the outdoor unit (condenser) from the patio to the sideway and mount it on the wall brackets next to the split system. The label with the information about the capacity of the original ducted system dyed under the sun so it was impossible to find out how many kilowatts is it. For that house we installed a Daikin standard inverter ducted with a capacity 8.5kw that is enough to maintain 4 bedrooms. A
lso you can see the photos of the indoor unit (the one sits inside the roof and blows the air through the ductwork) and this is how we bring it into the roof space through the return air grill. It comes as one piece but it’s pretty easy to dismantle it into three parts (coil, fan motor and return air plenum box) then bring it one by one into the roof and assemble it back.
Only Daikin ducted system has this feature that allows the installers to bring the ducted indoor units through narrow access.
